We start by reviewing your current experience and technical understanding. Once I know what you know, and what your priorities are, we proceed with tuition - and you get to ask lots of questions too!
With landscape photography, we often have both bright skies and dark shadows in the frame, and such conditions often prove difficult for your camera to deal with by itself. With my tuition, you'll learn how to ensure your camera captures everything it possibly can and how to post-process images to present them as you visualised them.
Another important aspect of landscape photography is getting everything in sharp focus. I will explain how to maximise depth of field so everything in your photo will be sharp from just a few feet away, all the way to infinity.
Of course, the most important part of an image is content, and a worthy image has to be sought-out. By practicing observation, previsualisation, and careful composition, your landscape photography will improve and you'll start taking some great photos, so that's exactly what I'll teach you to do.
The RAW file format and all its advantages. How to use the histogram to set exposure for the best quality RAW file; this approach helps to deal with high contrast scenes, combat noise and obtain the highest quality post processed images.
(Don't worry if your camera doesn't shoot RAW; I'll teach you how to get the most out of your JPEG files instead )
Aperture/ shutter priority and fully manual: The difference in the routines required with each of these exposure modes, which will be best for you and why.
Lenses and properties: Learn how to compositionally fill the wide field-of-view and expanded perspective of wide lenses; also using the compression and narrow field-of-view of longer focal lengths to bring distant objects in as viable compositional elements whilst excluding undesirable elements.
Filters: The few useful ones for digital - when and how to use them, and whether or not to bother.
Tripods and stability: When you need to use a tripod - which, with a modern camera/ lens equipped with optical image stabilisation, isn't so often for most photographers.
RAW workflow: Non-destructive editing of archival RAW files - optimal post-processing of each image using Adobe Lightroom's "Develop" module, and "exporting" purpose dedicated images for the internet and print.
Photo critique: And I can give some constructive critique of your work if you wish too
