One-to-One Workshop - Hebden Bridge

Why is this Workshop Better?     Workshop Structure     Weather     Cost and Payment     Gift Vouchers

Rochdale Canal, Hebden BridgeThis Workshop is 4 hours of intensive, one-to-one photography training at the beautiful old market town of Hebden Bridge in Calderdale, West Yorkshire.

St Thomases', Heptonstall - Old and NewTogether with the town's architecture, there's an abundance of photographic opportunities along the Rochdale canal where it passes through the town at Calder Holmes Park. Furthermore, the hilltop village of Heptonstall dates back to the 15th century and offers fabulous architecture including the St Thomas á Becket Church ruin.

You can share this workshop with a friend or relative at no extra cost.

You can also buy it as a personalised Gift Voucher.

Why is this Better than Other Workshops?

Because you learn more about photography!

Time and Numbers

Rochdale Canal at Calder Holmes ParkOther photography workshops can have up to 10 (or more) attendees, each of which has to share time with the tutor. As a consequence, clients often learn very little - even from an excursion lasting days!

With a PhotoBoffin One-to-One Workshop, you get 100% of my attention.

It's 4 hours of intensive, on-location training tailored to your requirements - efficient learning with no time wasted.

You'll learn lots more than sharing with several strangers.

Pragmatism and Convenience

There's time to travel to the location, do the 4-hour workshop - including a quick lunch break - and get home before the rush hour!

And if you choose to share with a friend or relative, you're collective requirements are usually similar and there's no extra cost.

Utilise the Full Potential of Contemporary Digital Photography

My tuition embraces the full potential of contemporary cameras and modern digital workflow. I don't have one foot in the bygone days of film.

Workshop Structure

Locks at Hebden Bridge

We meet up on Station Road where it passes over the canal, which is just yards from a small public car park. There's usually plenty of free parking available on the main A464 Burnley road too.

To start off, we discuss the genres that inspire you and then cover workflow options, appropriate camera settings, shooting routines for optimal focus and exposure, and - the most important part - composition. (You can read a detailed list of tuition topics at the main tuition page.)

Next, as we walk, you get to put it all into practice by taking some photos with me on hand to encourage you, suggest subject matter for your images and ensure your thorough understanding of what you're doing and why.

Carlton Chambers, Hebden Bridge

Hebden Bridge offers lots of subject matter for photography, and I will show you exactly how to create great images from it all.

When convenient,  we take a quick lunch break and discuss your progress and priorities for the balance of the workshop.

Lastly, we conclude the workshop as discussed, including a quick post-processing lesson using Adobe Lightroom or DxO Photo Lab if requested.

Weather

Two days before the agreed date for the workshop, I will email you with details of the weather forecast. If it looks OK, we go ahead as planned. If it warns of heavy rain or similarly unsuitable weather, we reschedule.

We will probably decide to cope with any changeable and showery weather, so if that's the case, bring suitable clothing and protection for your equipment.

Responsibility and Liability

You are responsible for your own safety and that of your camera and other equipment at all times during the workshop. If you wish to insure yourself against injury and associated loss of income, or damage to photographic equipment, you must do so at your own expense before the date of the workshop.

PhotoBoffin.co.uk accepts no responsibility or liability for damage to equipment or personal injury during the workshop, however caused.
